What you'll be doing
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will work closely with stakeholders across the company on business system and IT functions and projects, helping to ensure that technology solutions align with business goals and deliver value to the organization.
The BSA will play a pivotal role in improving processes, reducing inefficiencies, and enabling business growth through technology.
Reporting to the SVP Finance, the Business Systems Analyst coordinates with Senior Management, Operations staff, Finance staff, external clients, and the external IT service provider.
Responsibilities will include :
Business Systems
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and prioritize business requirements and objectives. Ensure a clear understanding of business processes and needs.
- Analyze existing business systems, workflows, and technologies to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for improvement.
- Create system design specifications, including functional and non-functional requirements. Ensure that proposed solutions meet business objectives.
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements to optimize business operations.
- Coordinate IT related project planning, including defining scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Act as a liaison between internal and external business stakeholders on IT related topics to ensure effective communication and understanding of project goals.
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure that systems meet quality and functionality standards through the testing phase.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of business requirements, system designs, and project-related materials.
- Define and provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes.
- Support the transition to and implementation of new systems, including support of the adoption process and troubleshooting issues or challenges with the user experience.
Information Technology
- Manage, with support of the external IT services firm, the hardware, including laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and printers by evaluating and confirming user requirements and monitoring performance of devices.
- Manage, with the support of the external IT services firm, the various software tools used by the functional areas, including installation, renewals, and purchase of new products and licenses.
- Be the primary point of contact managing service tickets issued to the external IT services firm, providing status updates, and supporting resolution where needed and analyzing type and frequency of service tickets to identify trends and opportunities.
- Provide technical support and expertise on technical hardware and software, and network-related issues, as required.
- Act as the point of contact to set up new employees on the business IT infrastructure, collaborating with the external IT services and hiring manager where required.
- Coordinate the periodic updating of the business disaster recovery protocols, collaborating with the external IT services firm.
- Support with the development of a business continuity plan, working collaboratively with other functional departments and managers to create and implement the process.
- Monitor business system and site security systems.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Degree / Diploma in business, information technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis, developing business process, combined with knowledge of software development.
- Knowledge of relevant software applications and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project management experience considered an asset.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
