Senior Financial Analyst
We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Toronto office.

What the day will look like
- Maintain the capabilities of Technical Finance to provide support to the reinsurance brokers and clients without disruption.
- Increase team capabilities in analytical skills, research and database information management and manipulation.
- Uninterrupted maintenance and development of the Technical Finance team’s analytical tools.
- Assistance to the Senior Vice President, Technical Finance with inter-departmental communications for project management (data gathering for client projects).
- Continued maintenance of up-to-date ever-changing rating agency and regulatory guidelines, advisories, and methodologies.
- Statistical manipulation of financial data to generate company and industry peer perspective analysis.
- Creation of working files that are concise and easy to review and validate; presentation materials, white papers and reports for distribution to clients, reinsurers and internal staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 5-7 years on the job accounting / financial analysis experience, strong preference for within the insurance / reinsurance industry.
- Professional Designation : CPA / CFA or, in final stages of completion thereof.
- Hands-on experience manipulating, reviewing and analyzing Financial statements (quarterly and annual) results and annual reports to produce critiques on corporate results.
- Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standard).
- Strong disposition towards learning and the ability to adjust to ever-changing deadlines and demands.
- Very strong work ethic and desire to keep learning.
- Strong communication skills (English - verbal, listening and written) ability to articulate complex technical subjects to a novice audience.
- Hand-on computer skills MS OFFICE 2016 Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access
- Good documentation skills audit trail notes for analytical projects and tool development and use
- Strong validation and checking skills
