About the role

The Senior Cloud Engineer role must specialize in Microsoft Azure. The role participates in the design of high-performance, reliable, resilient, economical and secure solutions to ensure successful deployments.

Make recommendations to ensure that the architecture meets the business needs.

What you will do

Duties and Responsibilities

• Owns continuous delivery framework and focus on automation
• Provision and administer infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service environments using best practices in Microsoft Azure
• Architect, design, deploy, maintain and lead the implementation of cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and underlying technologies
• Reviews, evaluates, specifies, designs, maintains, and documents system architecture, system configuration, system monitoring and system performance monitoring
• Process and complete simultaneous projects in an accurate and timely fashion
• Support always-available cloud-based software as a service (SaaS) applications
• Make decisions on problem resolutions in critical down time situations when escalation is impractical
• Create, update and share implementation, infrastructure and architectural designs with the organization
• Develop clear, concise installation, configuration procedures, runbooks and contributing to the maintenance of operational standards
• Create automated approaches and scripts for system administration tasks where possible and appropriate
• Analyze security requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
• Implement security measures in all technical activities to limit unauthorized access / use
• Provide advanced systems and intermediate network support as requested as part of troubleshooting analysis
• Participate in design sessions with the team and architects
• Create technical documentation, diagrams, and presentations

What you bring

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services and related controls.
• Understands capacity management and right-sizing
• Nice to haves include anything with Firewalls, Office 365, Exchange, Domain Controllers, Virtualization VMWare
• Azure Cloud Architect certification
• 4-5 years of experience working in Cloud architecture, implementation and / or administration role.
• Automation and configuration management tools like Azure native tool deployment manager
• Azure Policies
• Azure SKD / API tools

Skills and Experience

• Experience scripting languages and automation
• Experience with agile development methodologies and implementing then to DevOps practices
• 5+ years of success in consultative / complex technical and deployment projects (where necessary, managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution / projects)
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate technical topics.
• Scripting (PowerShell, Python) knowledge / experience a bonus.
• Knowledge of Linux, Windows system.
• Ability to lead the team and work well both independently and in a team environment.
• Good working knowledge with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Team player before anything
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
