This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with Hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.
Your role
This is a contract role for a period of 22 months.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Budgeting & Internal you will be responsible for providing timely reports and rigorous financial analyses for Programming for the English Network.
This includes conducting detailed and complex analysis and research of financial information and other non-financial data to support those activities.
You will identify opportunities for improvement in existing reports and processes, as well as build new reporting to support the department.
This role includes a broad range of financial and non-financial responsibilities and will allow you to get exposure to the Programming departments.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Reporting packages.
Prepare monthly financial / management reports and variance analysis for programming inventory and program rights expense.
Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals, reclasses and program rights amortization expense.
Prepare and analyze the Programming Departmental and telecast budgets and forecasts.
Reconciliation of programming inventory between financial and scheduling system.
Preparation of programming schedules for regulatory and external reporting.
Assist with preparation and analysis of year-end programming audit schedules.
Assist with reviews and analysis for CRTC reporting.
Prepare and analyze quarterly balance sheet exhibits.
Interpret and enforce policies, standards, methods and recognized accounting practices.
Build new reports and develop processes on an ad-hoc basis, while identifying opportunities to improve existing reporting.
Set up and maintenance of Programming projects in SAP.
Direct supervision of one staff (Administrative Support Level II)
All other tasks, assignments, duties or projects as required by the immediate supervisor.
Your profile
Position requires a professional accounting designation or CPA and knowledge of IFRS.
At least 5 years’ experience demonstrating growth and / or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications. SAP, TM1, FMT, PowerPivot and PowerQuery experience is an asset.
Self-starter and team-player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Superior investigative and analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement strategies for improvement.
Ability to set priorities and balance competing business needs within budgetary restrictions and reporting deadlines.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), across all levels of staff and management.
Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Previous experience / knowledge of program rights in television and digital is an asset.
