What is the opportunity? A member of the Insurance Executive Committee, the Head of HR, RBC Insurance has global responsibility across a diverse organization structure with multiple industry segments and distributions channels.
As Head of HR, RBCI, you will advise the Insurance Executive Committee and the senior leadership team on all aspects of Human Resources including workforce management, organizational design and restructuring, change management, talent management, leadership and employee development, performance management, diversity and rewards and recognition.
You will also Co-Chair the Insurance Diversity Council. This role oversees the following groups : Canadian Insurance Business, Sales and distribution, Service and Operations, Advice Centres, Shared Services (Claims and Underwriting), Lean Six Sigma, Transformational Initiatives, Creditor Operations, Investments, Reinsurance, and Strategy. What will you do?
- Design, deliver and evolve innovative cost efficient HR solutions in advancement of the RBC Insurance’s business strategy and people priorities Ensure business decisions as it pertains to human resources are well informed through robust discussion and analysis in support of strategic decision making at an individual and organizational level.
- Lead workforce planning requirements in alignment with RBCI strategy and cost management planning; lead diversity initiatives through the Insurance Diversity Council.
- HR Integration lead on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A’s).
- Partner with HR Initiatives team and Centres of Expertise; utilize and guide usage of HR model for managerial and employee support.
- Compensation - Lead the annual compensation planning process; manage the specific country compensation programs including Canada and Barbados;
guide and direct business leaders on compensation issues (MTI, STI, Base Salary, Commission plans etc).
- Be a market leader; RBCI senior HR leader to all applicable HR related industry and regulatory bodies globally; active member of various Insurance Industry HR related organizations representing RBCI.
- Talent Management - Lead the assessment and strengthening of leadership depth and employee capability through integrated leadership programs and development opportunities.
- Governance - Ensure that the organization and all legal entities meet corporate governance and legal requirements.
- Change Management - Responsibility for the design and adaptation of an organizational structure (including reporting relationships, roles and accountabilities, rewards and recognition) that delivers on RBCI business strategy.
What do you need to succeed? Must have :
- College or University degree or equivalent.
- 10 + years in Human Resources experience, with 2-4 years in large, multi-unit company.
- Experience in multiple HR disciplines including talent management, compensation, learning and development and coaching.
