Position Title : Relief Pharmacist
Job Type : Full Time
Location : Alberta
Travel : The relief pharmacist, based out of central or southern AB, is expected to travel throughout the province as needed, with all applicable travel expenses covered by the company.
Neighbourly Pharmacy is now looking for a Relief Pharmacist to join the team in Alberta. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new grad!

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities :
Reporting to the District Director, the Relief Pharmacist will work to full scope of practice, enhancing patient health and wellness by administering safe, effective, and responsible drug therapy.
The Pharmacist will be instrumental in achieving departmental excellence through, implementing best practices, optimizing workflow efficiencies and staying attuned to evolving healthcare trends.
- Determine appropriateness of drug therapy
- Monitor medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, and interactions
- Counsel patients regarding prescriptions, OTC products, and health related issues, including but not limited to; indications, contraindications, adverse effects, interactions, and appropriate storage and care
- Answer questions from patients that require therapeutic knowledge, clinical analysis, or assessment
- Provide clinical services as appropriate for eligible patients
- Administer injections / immunizations as needed
- Promote health and wellness by providing education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence
- Collaborate with team members and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
- Supervise a pharmacy student or a provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities
- Adhere to federal, provincial, and territorial regulations governing pharmacy practice
- Engage in continuous professional development; keeps knowledge and professional skills up-to-date
- Other duties as required
Technical Skills :
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational proficiency and attention to detail
- Self-directed and able to work independently
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Education and Experience :
- Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
- Injection certification is required
- Additional Prescribing Authorization is an asset
