Senior JavaScript (ReactJS, NodeJS) Developer to support the TSYS program in building front-end web applications for one of our major banking clients -
Hiring Manager : Senior Development Manager
Location Address : Hybrid (Downtown Toronto) - On site 2x a month
Contract Duration : ASAP to 12 / 31 / with furlough exceptions (and spare laptop likely available to avoid procurement delays, TBC)
Schedule Hours : 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs / week
Reason : Backfill a contract for TSYS program, team just received approvals to hire for urgent support needed on team in December.
While extension is not off the table, there is no indication right now that the team would feel confident to promise extension upon start.
Chosen resource must be ready to hit the ground running.

Typical Day in Role :
- Current on industry best practice and secure coding.
- Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
- Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain different applications.
- Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
- Work with Delivery Leads and BSA’s to articulate efforts and compile estimates.
- Expert level experience in the following technologies : Java / ReactJS / NodeJS.
- Deep knowledge of Web Development, JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, and Cloud Application Development.
- Extensive experience in designing and developing enterprise grade software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Tech stack : JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, and Cloud Applications.
- Full stack role will be 50 / 50 front end and back-end.
Must Have Skills :
- 8+ years’ progressive working experience, with 4+ years’ experience as a Full Stack Developer .
- 5+ years of progressive experience working in the IT industry in roles like developer and team lead .
- 2+ years’ recent project experience with ReactJS .
- 2+ years’ recent project experience with NodeJS .
- Recent experience with enterprise environment.
Nice-To-Have Skills :
- Experience with Digital Factory.
- Experience with Orion / Constellation (similar environment and tech stack).
- Experience with Cloud applications.
- Extensive experience in designing and developing enterprise grade software.
- Experience from FI / banking.
Soft Skills :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
Best vs Average : Needs a resource to hit the road running and have strong experience with the same ecosystem than used by this team.
Digital Factory or Orion Experience would be auto-shortlists as long as they’ve used the requested tech stack.
Degrees or certifications :
Bachelor's degree in a related field required
Candidate Review & Selection :
- 1st round : 1 hour with Tech Lead and HM MS Teams Video Interview technical questions and live coding with ReactJS / NodeJS.
- 1 coding question to solve will have approx. 20 minutes sharing screen (will be on sandbox platform).
