Whether rebuilding, repairing, or performing maintenance on our fleet of equipment, Mechanics are essential to our business and quickly become our Drivers’ favorite people.

A day in the life* of a Mechanic :
- Upon arriving at work, meet with the team, assess all heavy duty diesel trucks & equipment, and prepare for the day ahead
- Perform morning tasks, which may include : Maintenance or repairs of diesel, CNG, gas and electrically-operated trucks as well as associated heavy duty equipmentUsing various power tools, hand instruments and cutting-edge equipmentCompleting daily reports, work orders and order necessary partsPlanning and scheduling repairs in M5 planner and procure partsAssisting in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedule
- Mid-shift, take a hard-earned break, having lunch with the team and catching up with coworkers
- Perform afternoon labor and administrative tasks, either continuing tasks from the morning or starting new ones
- Before heading home, clean up your work areas and tracks to make for a smooth next day

What’s required :
Mechanics must have :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); technical diploma desired
- Experienced as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
- Follow detailed instructions, work independently and maintain accurate records
- Willingness to operate any vehicle or equipment necessary to perform job
- Exert physical effort including pushing, pulling, bending and lifting items up to 100 lbs.
- Use fine motor coordination with arm, hand, finger and leg dexterity
- Ability to kneel, crawl and climb
