Position Summary
Pharmacy Technician, Outpatient Pharmacy :
In this position, you will contribute to the operation of the Centre through the day to day maintenance of essential support services (under the supervision of assigned Staff Pharmacist and overall supervision by the Manager of the Centre).
You’re also a great relationship builder, communicate effectively with peers across the entire organization and effortlessly connect with physicians, staff, patients, and families.
You are highly organized, have great interpersonal skills and adapt well in a dynamic environment. You are able to work as well as a part of an inter-professional team.
This position supports the Hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and / or transforming care through research and innovation.
This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers , learners, patients and families. #INDO
On a practical level, you will
- Demonstrate professional & courteous customer service
- Perform Information gathering & Prescription data entry
- Perform processing (counting, labeling & related filing responsibilities)
- Performs cash register functions
- Maintains Inventory Management (Purchasing; Receiving, & stock Rotation)
- Performs Extemporaneous Compounding
Qualifications
- Regulated Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Experience in outpatient pharmacy
- Experience with the Kroll pharmacy computer system
- Computer skills
- Good written and verbal communicative skills
- Knowledge of the Ontario drug benefit & Third party drug plan billing procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge in Pharmaceutical Math
- Accurate and efficient typing skills
- Accurate and pays attention to detail
- Well-organized work habits
- Adaptability & ability to prioritize work (shifting work focus to meet client expectations)
- Ability to work in a close team environment
- Cash handling skills & customer oriented focus

This is a Full Time Temporary Position (18 Months), with 8 hour shifts, days, evenings and weekends in the out patient pharmacy.
