We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team at OMERS. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience working with Data Warehouses and modern data platforms, along with a strong proficiency in SQL, Python and PySpark.
The candidate should also have a solid understanding of firewall and networking concepts as they relate to data platforms.
Expertise in at least one of the following tools is required : Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Factory. The candidate must have worked in collaborative development environments using either GitHub or Azure DevOps, including CI / CD.

Responsibilities :
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and systems.
Implement and optimize data products, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data product requirements and deliver solution.
Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation.
Monitor and troubleshoot data platform issues, providing timely resolutions.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our data platform.
Bring your smile and sense of humor to actively engage with peers and customers.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Over 8 years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on Data Warehouses and modern data platforms.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems.
Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark.
Must have experience working in a collaborative development environment using either GitHub or Azure DevOps, including CI / CD.
Solid understanding of firewall and networking concepts related to data platforms.
Expertise in at least one of the following tools : Databricks, Snowflake, or Azure Data Factory.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
