The Opportunity :
We are looking for a driven and experienced Project Engineering to join our client's growing team in the Hamilton area. In this role, you’ll take on a unique mix of leadership and hands-on technical responsibilities, guiding the Project Engineering Department and actively contributing to the successful launch and execution of automotive programs.

What You’ll Be Doing :
- Leading the Project Engineering Team : Plan, organize, and guide the Project Engineering Department to meet organizational goals, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Providing Technical Oversight : Develop and enforce engineering policies, standards, and procedures while offering technical guidance and escalation support to ensure successful project execution.
- Managing Resources and Collaboration : Evaluate technology, resource needs, and production demands to plan projects and assess feasibility.
Work closely with internal teams to discuss specifications and establish standards.
- Executing Project Engineering Tasks : Support assigned programs, coordinate with Quality, Production, and Paint teams to execute tasks such as implementing CMM fixtures, secondary equipment, packaging, and paint racks.
- Driving New Program Launches : Partner with Program Managers to lead new program activities, update essential business documents, manage pre-production builds, and validate quoting information at each APQP gate.
- Promoting Continuous Improvement : Collaborate with other departments to identify, analyze, and resolve production and quality issues.
Engage in special projects and continually seek ways to optimize processes and efficiency.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful :
Education & Training : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a College Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or a related field).
Proficiency in APQP processes, Microsoft Office, CAD, Root Cause Analysis, GD&T, and complex mathematics.
Technical Skills : Strong expertise in Project Management, Mechanical Assembly, Dimensional Analysis, and Computer Applications.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage departmental performance, and communicate technical requirements effectively.
Experience : A minimum of 10 years in an engineering role within a plastics, painting, or assembly automotive production environment, with at least 5 years in a launch engineering role.
Supervisory or management experience is a significant asset.
