Warehouse Associate

Job Description

As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for moving inventory in the warehouse, organizing, and packaging it properly.

You will work in a partially refrigerated environment, ensuring that products are stored and prepped for delivery efficiently.

This role requires physical endurance and the ability to handle materials manually and with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Move and organize inventory within the warehouse.
• Place products in the storage fridge and move pallets close to the loading dock for delivery.
• Ensure that inventory is organized and packaged correctly.
• Prep orders for the next day and maintain stock from production.
• Stand on your feet for long periods, twist, bend, and manually lift up to 30 lbs throughout the day.

Essential Skills

• Material handling and general warehouse experience.
• Order picking and warehouse experience (at least 6 months)
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Clear handwriting for manual logging
• Familiarity with inventory and general labor tasks
• Experience using pallet jacks
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment
• Ability to work in an autonomous setting

Work Environment

• The warehouse is a separate building from production and is refrigerated to keep the product fresh, with temperatures around 8 degrees.
• Steel-toed boots are required.
• The warehouse is clean with no odors, and there are about 10 people working in the warehouse.
• Free parking is available at the back, and there are nearby food options on Merivale.

Job Details

• The work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, and Friday from 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM.
• Location : Merivale Road (Ottawa)
• Pay : $17.20 / hour
• Contract to hire position.
