Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Accountant will be responsible for managing financial reporting, cost analysis, and inventory control specific to their manufacturing processes.

This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, cost accounting, and financial analysis.

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports related to manufacturing operations, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and variance analysis.
• Monitor and report on manufacturing costs, ensuring they align with budgeted expectations.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, focusing on manufacturing costs and production efficiency.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.
• Collaborate with production managers to analyze and control production costs and implement cost-saving measures.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial statements.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes and controls related to manufacturing activities.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making by management.

Qualifications

MUST BE IN THE GREATER REGION OF MONTREAL TO APPLY*

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field., CPA or equivalent
• Experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, manufacturing processes and inventory.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Bilingual in French and English
• Exceptional analytical abilities with a focus on identifying trends and discrepancies.
• Keen attention to detail, ensuring precision in all financial reports and analyses.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, facilitating collaboration across teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
