The Change Management & Engagement Lead, Program Management Office, is responsible for supporting the change management initiatives for Regional Digital Solution projects across Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services Authority, and Vancouver Coastal Health (the VPP ) in a manner suitable to each health organization’s culture to maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance.
The role focuses on changes to business processes, systems and technology, job functions and organization structures, as well as creating and implementing change management plans that minimize resistance among clinical users and maximize user engagement.
The Change Management & Engagement Lead works to drive faster adoption, greater ultimate utilization and higher proficiency on the changes impacting employees and applications and clinical information system solutions users in the organization.
The role is responsible for the creation and implementation of change management strategies, providing change coaching and support to managers and supervisors as they help their staff through the same process.
Additional support will be required for project teams in integrating change management activities into their project plans.
Duties / Accountabilities :
Applies a structured change management approach and methodology for the people side of change caused by projects, organizational changes, and other change efforts within health care primarily across the VPP.
Develops a change management strategy based on a situational awareness of the details of the change and the groups being impacted by the change.
- Initiates, cultivates, and maintains an effect change network of change champions and develops influence within the network and provides change related coaching, mentoring, and support to change champions.
- Identifies potential people-side risks, anticipates points of resistance, and develops specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns (identify resistance and performance gaps, develop, and implement corrective actions).
- Conducts readiness assessments; evaluates results and presents findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner.
- Develops a set of actionable and targeted change management plans including communication plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan and resistance management plan, in collaboration with leaders and vested parties.
- Supports the execution of plans by employee-facing managers and business leaders.
- Provides active and visible coaching to executives and leaders who are change sponsors.
- Creates and manages measurement systems to track adoption, utilization, and proficiency of individual changes.
- Creates and enables reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success.
- Works with project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan.
- Works with, Learning, Human Resources and Organizational Development specialists in the formulation of plans and activities to support project implementation.
- Facilitates knowledge transfer from clinical staff to project teams regarding clinical workflows and business processes.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications :
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Change, or Business Administration and seven (7) years of experience in leading change or technology change in a health care setting.
PROSCI Certification or equivalent experience of change management principles and methodologies is an asset.
- Demonstrated recent knowledge of the systems, culture and organizational systems intelligence in a health care organization.
- Demonstrated experience in leading change in a clinical setting.

- Demonstrated expert knowledge in change theory and adoption principles and how these principles can be translated into implementation strategies to generate positive outcomes for patients.
