Job Summary & Responsibilities
Aberdeen Elementary School is focusing on their school motto of "You Matter. You Belong." We want all of our students and staff to feel a sense of belonging and care.
The successful candidate for this position will be committed to working collaboratively with teachers and support staff to design an environment and program that engages both children and their families.
They will have a breadth of knowledge and experience in working in the Inclusive Education field at the elementary level, including experience in the areas of social emotional learning, trauma informed practice and differentiated instruction.
They will also be familiar with technology used to support students in their learning.
The successful candidate may be required to complete LSS Essentials , a series of 3 workshops facilitated by the LSS Department.
The annual salary for this full-time Teacher position ranges from $55,654.20 to $97,612.20 with placement on the July 1, 2024 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
Education & Experience
Major / minor or diploma in Inclusive Education (aka Special Education)
Practicum and / or work experience in Inclusive Education at the Elementary level
Case management experience required
Training and experience with Level B Assessments (ie. KBIT2 / KTEA III)
Successfully complete and maintain non-violent crisis intervention certification
Eligible for B.C. Certification
Satisfactory teacher evaluation and / or final practicum reports
