Job Description
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our team in Winnipeg, Toronto or Calgary. As an associate Business Systems Analyst, you will manage the functional & non-functional requirements solicitation & requirements management process.
You are expected to use facilitation, interviewing, concise communication techniques to extract business needs and work closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Business Systems Analysts and other technologists in the realization management of those requirements through to solution implementation.
The Business Systems Analyst will :
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and processes. Conduct interviews and workshops to understand business needs.
- Analyze and map business processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current and desired future states. Provide recommendations and actionable plans to bridge these gaps.
- Work closely with technical teams, including Solution Architects and Developers, to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements.
Ensure alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.
Create detailed documentation, including functional specifications, business requirements documents, use cases, user stories, and process flow diagrams.
Ensure that all documentation is clear and accessible for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to develop and execute Acceptance Criteria, test plans, and test cases. Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders, ensuring that solutions meet the specified requirements.
- Serve as a liaison between business units and IT, facilitating communication and collaboration. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Support change management efforts by providing training, creating user guides, and facilitating workshops. Ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes by end-users.
- Analyze data to support business decision-making. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and project metrics.
- Assist in project planning, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. Support risk management and issue resolution.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and propose innovative solutions.
To be successful as aBusiness Systems Analyst with People Corporation, you will need :
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a related role. Experience in the Group Benefits industry is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and experience with MS Suite, JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint are required.
