What You'll Do

As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of DIRTT’s workplace.

You will work closely with the Safety Manager and other teams to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies, conduct safety training, and manage safety-related documentation.

Safety Coordination

  • Implement and maintain various safety-related policies, trainings, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate safety orientations, manage certificates, procure PPE.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Advisors and Director to plan and execute safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, accidents, and near misses, prepare reports, and facilitate root cause analysis for management and regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Taking meeting minutes for : Joint Health and Safety Committee, Better Together meetings, Safety minutes.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained and accessible, and that employees are trained on its use.
  • Manage and update safety documentation, including safety data sheets (SDS) and safety manuals.
  • Monitor and report on safety compliance and performance metrics and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in emergency response planning and participate in safety drills and exercises.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, regulations, and standards related to workplace safety.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees to report safety concerns and provide guidance on safety-related inquiries.
  • Preparation for COR audit : booking interviews, collecting documents, etc.
  • Leverage technology to support the safety program (SharePoint, create PowerPoint presentations, Outlook, Teams, etc.)

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in workplace health and safety is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in safety recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and mitigate safety risks.
