Interior Design Project Consultant Residential New Construction

This unique national company has engaged Cameron Lappin of Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for an Interior Design Project Consultant to join their team in the Greater Vancouver region.

The Interior Design Project Consultant will oversee the completion of home design interiors from concept to completion with the support of a project management team.
This role involves working closely with the trade network to deliver quality results and services that meet our client's high standards, while aligning and managing with the construction schedule.
Responsibilities include consulting with clients and guiding them through the interior finishes to the signoff process; as well, preparing drawings based on those selections using software (including AutoCad), budgeting, obtaining timely client approvals, ordering products, preparing finishing schedules, using project management software and documents, conducting the Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) with clients, and providing service upon project completion.
You will be responsible for :
- Working closely with diverse customers in-person, and remotely, to deliver results through a consultative customer approach, while managing expectations through the life cycle of a project
- Enforce and adhere to all written job-site Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies.
- Manage the New Home Warranty Program.
- Coordinate details with Construction Manager and Project Managers to align schedules.
- Manage customer expectations to deliver an exceptional client experience throughout each project.
- Work closely with and maintain supplier relationships with key partners.
- Support Project Managers to ensure interior design projects are completed on time, and on budget.
- Maintain online construction schedules for each project using Buildertrend.
- Handle client change requests and subcontractor work orders as needed.
- Provide ongoing updates to the construction costing database.
- Actively participate in scheduled management review meetings.
- Deliver regular project status reports to management.
- Coordinate customer progress payments with the construction schedule and payment terms.
Qualifications :
- Post secondary education in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Degree or 2-year professional diploma preferred
- 4+ years of experience in new home construction interior design
- Solid understanding of engineered drawings, details, and technical data.
- Practical knowledge of the British Columbia Building Code.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of the Tarion Home Warranty Program and the PDI process.
- Proficient computer skills
- Must possess experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD to be considered
- Strong customer-centric, customer service background is a must.
- Project coordination capacity with excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with team members, suppliers, and trades.
- In-depth knowledge of residential construction technology, current design trends, and products.
- Strong Communication Skills
- Ability to assist clients in decision-making.
- Valid BC Drivers License, with a vehicle
