Overview
The Shipper is responsible for providing support to the Winnipeg Pipe Operation by receiving and entering orders over the phone, email and in-house applications, while engaging customers to ensure that all details are accurate and complete.
They will work with the sales team to coordinate customer needs and concerns, serve as a point of contact for the sales team with regards to issues, product inventory, and project status while processing orders to facilitate seamless execution of delivery and invoicing.
Responsibilities :
Process sales orders and internal transfers for the Manitoba and Saskatchewan markets
Process and manage payments to haulers
Run reports as required for General Manager and Sales Manager
Ensure invoicing to customers is completed accurately and efficiently
Interact with customers in person, on the phone and email
Assist with inventory control
Dispatch duties including : scheduling deliveries; coordinating loads; manual and SAP ticketing
Enter returned goods, culls & shipping to aid in inventory management
Liaise with Project Managers daily, in regards to product requirements for customers and assist in providing scheduled solutions based on customers’ needs
Manage and solve customer inquiries and issues as it relates to shipping & inventory
Working with yard-staff (forklift operators) to organize loads and maintain inventory levels
Coordinate with other Lafarge Pipe operations to balance inventory, forms and source product
Monitor stock resale items and assist in obtaining quotes from vendors
Work with hired trucking companies to make sure logistic requirements are met. Deal with issues as they come up (wait time, drivers, tie-down methods)
Assist small-volume customers with pricing, taking and processing orders and payments
General office duties

Qualifications
Education
High School diploma required
Experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets
Knowledge of concrete pipe and manhole products an asset, but not required
Proficiency in SAP an asset, but not required
Excellent customer care skills, dedicated to exceeding expectations of internal and external customers
Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with other staff, vendors and customers
Able to work under pressure with fluid deadlines and changing circumstances
Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the desire to seek solutions
High level of time management and task prioritization skills
Excellent written and oral communication and teamwork / interpersonal skills
Able to negotiate skillfully in tough situations without damaging relationships
Capable of working independently with a positive and helpful attitude
