Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Drug Distribution Manager, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St.
Boniface Hospital, the Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for the procurement, storage, inventory management, recording, preparing, dispensing, packaging, labeling, pricing, issuing and distribution of pharmaceuticals in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Department.
Experience
Previous experience in hospital pharmacy practice is preferred.
Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)
- Grade XII or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program.
Certification / Licensure / Registration

Qualifications and Skills
- Basic keyboard skills.
- Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of spreadsheet, word processing, and email and internet software is preferred.
- Ability to pass and maintain the departmental verification validation within six months of being in the workplace, and then as required on a periodic basis.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
- Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with other individuals.
