Job Description :
Essential Job Functions :
- Perform daily Storage mgmt activities relating to SMS routines, DASD pools monitoring housekeeping batch jobs and oncall support
- Troubleshoot basic space issues, perform migrate and archive functions
- Implement routine storage type changes relating to client requests to add or move volumes
- Troubleshoot JCL errors and resolve them
- Create and maintain core system backups
- Login and monitor IBM TS7700 grids
- Understand the incident, change and problem processes and execute the processes
- Implement new storage solutions
- Perform and Lead DR drills and provide direction to other drill team members
- Create and manage SMS spools
- Configure Tape and DASD hardware devices from the device level
- Peer reviews all storage changes that the team executes
- Administration of Storage software
- Setup and troubleshoot storage replication (Tape and DASD)
- Troubleshoot IBM grid failures and have an in depth understanding of how monitor and manage it across multiple clusters in multiple locations
- Lead Storage restoration efforts during outages
- Provide Oncall 7 x 24 rotation
Mandatory Qualifications :
- Applicants for employment in Canada must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Mainframe Storage and Tape projects
- Proven experience managing IBM, EMC / DELL, HP Storage and Tape HW and Software
- Proficiency in Storage and Tape implementation / migration
Other Qualifications :
- Relevant certifications such as Mainframe Storage Administrator are preferred
- Experience with z / OS system programming with focus on Storage and Tape is preferred
- Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration Management
Education :
Bachelor’s Degree in related fields is preferred
Work Environment :
- Office Environment
- Remote only within Canada
- This position requires minimum traveling, however openness to visit data centers is required.
