Earth Sciences and Engineering specializes in site planning, spatial information and digital terrain modeling, surface and subsurface investigations, rock mechanics, underground structures, geotechnical laboratory services, flood forecasting and water resource management through our geotechnical, hydrotechnical, and civil site development expertise.
The Hydrotechnical is team within our Earth Science & Engineering group. They provide civil engineering design expertise to Hatch's commodity-based business units.
Their capability spans through the whole project lifecycle, comprising scoping, conceptual design, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, construction and project management.
Our Calgary Earth Science & Engineering team is currently seeking a Water Resource Engineer to join the group and assist with current and exciting future project requirements and opportunities.

The Water Resource Engineer is responsible for assisting with and delivering projects covering :
- Surface water management
- Water Balance and Final Void Studies in mining related projects
- Catchment hydrology
- Mine water management
Some of the key responsibilities of your role will include :
- Liaison with clients to understand their needs and identify how we can assist
- Report writing on findings and proposal preparation
- Providing input to engineering, operating and cost estimates
Candidates with the following qualifications and experience are encouraged to apply :
- A degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative and inclusive work style
- Licensed engineer within Alberta preferred
- Prior experience within the industrial and mining sectors
- Previous experience in Hydraulic flood modelling will be well regarded
