Remote Estimator (Must be able to travel to Vancouver sites)
Our client is looking to add an Estimator to their team. They have been a leader in the construction industry on the west coast for over 30 years.
They specialize in projects that require the highest level of safety, quality, and environmental care. Their services span across various sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, and major infrastructure projects.
Scopes of work :
- Tree Care & Clearing : Site clearing, vegetation management, invasive species removal, wildfire interface management, and more.
- Earthworks : Excavation, backfill, FSR construction, drilling, and blasting.
- Environmental Services : Culvert installation, stream and habitat restoration, dredging, and in-stream works.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Prepare and present bid proposals to clients.
- Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Monitor project costs and provide updates to ensure budget adherence.
- Assist in the development of project schedules and timelines.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
