What you’ll do Nature & Scope of Work To instruct Insurance for Financial Planning (BFIN 386), to a wide range of students, as part of the Financial Planning concentration which covers FP Canada fundamental and advanced curriculum, in the BBA.
This course uses the Life Licensing Qualification Program (LLQP) materials and therefore experience as a licensed insurance advisor is preferred.
Instructors may apply to teach other courses in the designation as they become available, as long as they have been determined to be qualified to teach the competencies of the course.
Applicants are encouraged to detail their additional financial planning and business experience.Faculty are expected to participate fully in all department meetings, plus committee and administrative work.
The School of Business offers courses in each term (Fall, Spring and Summer), and this posting requires an instructor who can teach this course in Fall 2024 and Summer 2025.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP current) AND
- Master’s Degree or higher in any field; ANDMinimum three years’ industry experience in the last 10 years in financial planning;
ORMinimum three years’ experience in the last 10 years instructing courses with financial planning learning outcomes.
Assets
- LLQP licensed is preferred
- Ph.D. or earned Doctorate
- Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP), Certification in University Teaching, Credential / Experience in online teaching or equivalent
- Experience / Knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles in an educational environment.
- Indigenous lived experience
