POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and related schedules, and various operational and financial filings under Canadian / US regulatory accounting standards to regulatory agencies
- Ensure compliance with Canadian / US regulatory accounting standards regulatory accounting standards are prescribed principles which are modified from US GAAP
- Identify, analyze and reconcile US GAAP to regulatory accounting differences
- Prepare financial and operational statistical analysis on quarterly and annually basis
- Perform journal entries and reconciliations
- Review, trace and understand account codes, cost objects on accounting transactions
- Coordinate with multiple internal collaborators to acquire and validate information needed for reporting purpose
- Identify and analyze improvement to processes and work with teams (corporate reporting, tax, operations, information service) to implement selected solution
- provide financial data to support price index, cost of capital and grain revenue related calculations, and help to develop economic information reports
- Liaise with government agencies and stay current on regulatory changes, proposals and analyze impact of changes
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant fields; Accounting Designation is desirable
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience, railroad related experience is desirable
- Ability to work Excel to manipulate large sets of data
- Application expertise (desirable) SAP, BW, BPC
