Legal Assistant(IndigenousLaw)

Whatsin it foryou :

Annual salary of $60.000 to$70.000.

Permanent fulltimeposition (35 hours per week).

During the summer enjoy a schedule that gives you Friday afternoonsoff from July to Labor Day (summerschedule).

Responsibilities :

Proactively support professionals in managing and tracking theircases.

Coordinate schedules andensure followups for all appointments meetings hearings events andcommittees attended by the assignedprofessionals.

Participate in thedevelopment of the template bank.

Ensure deadlines are met and track client files anddeliverables.

Professionally andcourteously handle reminders and followups with current andpotential clients.

Prepare therequired documentation for various scheduledevents.

Proofread and correctdocuments.

Handle file openingsand billing.

Prepare expenseallocations.

Perform variousother administrative tasks asneeded.

Whatyou will need tosucceed :

Diploma in secretarial studies legal secretarial studies orequivalent training.

Minimum ofthree (3) years of experience in legal secretarial worklitigation.

Proficiency inMicrosoft Office Suite particularly Word (intermediate / advanced)Outlook and Excel.

Knowledge ofMa tre and iManage Work 10 software (anasset).

Bilingualism in spokenand written English and French is required to support lawyers withan anglophone client base.

Clientoriented courteous and professionaldemeanor.

Sense of responsibilityattention to detail and organizationalskills.

Ability to managemultiple cases simultaneously and prioritizeeffectively.

Team spirit andinitiative.
