Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst is a key position in the financial planning & analysis team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this position will help the company understand the financial story of the North American business.
You will be a business partner by taking ownership and leadership of the related financial analysis to further drive growth.
- Act as a business partner to the North American commercial teams, working closely to glean financial insights to better understand the success of their business.
- Own the budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning for the Canadian & US markets, including building forecasts tailored to each country, and presenting to senior finance and senior North American leadership teams
- Work cross functionality to analysis KPIs, draw insights from the business, and collect supplementary data to support the build of annual, monthly, and daily sales forecasts for the Canadian & US business
- Dive into gross margin to better understand how price, volume, customer, channel and product mix impacts the North American markets
- Prepare and analyze P&Ls to understand the unique business drivers of each market
- Work closely with the Global FP&A and Accounting teams to prepare monthly accruals, month-end variance analysis, and close commentary
- Build models, and other ad-hoc analysis to support initiatives in the Canadian & US market
- Forecast and track Canadian capital expenditures
- Experience partnering with senior leadership to share business insights and support them in understanding their business
- Advanced excel skills, including the use of complex formulas and pivot tables, and experience building excel templates and models
- Executive level communication and presentation ability is required, both written and verbal
- Exceptional planning, organization, self-motivation, creative problem solving, and analytic skills are essential to be successful in this role
Qualifications
- CPA or CPA in progress, a major asset
- An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business administration
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a similar role
- Bilingualism (French and English) oral and written
- Exceptional planning, organizational, self-motivation, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of MS Office including advanced Excel skills
- Advanced excel skills, including the use of complex formulas and pivot tables and experience in creating excel templates and templates.
