Fleet Underwriter (Long Haul Trucking)
As a Fleet Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating, selecting, negotiating, and pricing insurance policies to ensure profitability within established underwriting guidelines.
This position is fully remote in and around Edmonton or Calgary. The successful candidate will need to travel to broker visits and so its important the reside near the city center.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Conducting thorough evaluations of policy applications to maintain a profitable book of business.
- Accurately entering policy information into our system to ensure timely and precise transactions.
- Reviewing endorsements, renewals, reissues, and cancellations in line with corporate standards.
- Assisting in achieving renewal rate increases by assessing exposure and adhering to rate adequacy guidelines.
- Analyzing new business for profitability, with guidance from senior underwriters, including assessing exposures and hazards.
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with brokers and customers to understand the target market and provide quality service.
- Staying updated on industry trends, developments, and regulatory changes, including competitive analysis and market conditions.
- Interacting cordially with brokers and customers to ensure satisfaction and high business retention.
- Educating brokers on corporate underwriting philosophy, policies, and procedures as needed.
About You
- Progress towards CIP and CRM designations is an asset.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of long haul fleet underwriting experience.
- Strong knowledge of underwriting techniques, guidelines, rating programs, risk information sources, and coverages.
- Proficiency in using Outlook, Word, and Excel.
