Job Summary
With rising interest in ESG from internal and external stakeholders, it's increasingly important to tell our ESG story, and measure our progress for internal decision making and external consumption.
ESG data is a transverse topic touching many businesses and functions across the organization. Having a central enterprise lens of our progress against commitments and targets is critical to managing our ESG performance and informing our strategies.
Reporting into the Director, Enterprise ESG Strategy the Senior Manager of Enterprise ESG Data Analytics & Insights will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the ESG performance management strategy for the enterprise which includes collecting and analyzing material ESG KPIs from internal and external sources to operationalize an enterprise scorecard and insights tracker.
The Senior Manager will collect, monitor and report on our impact levers including business (products / services), employee research, community investment, and operations;
as well as stay abreast of global ESG data trends. The analysis and insights will then inform senior management decision making.
What will you do?
Coordinate, collect and analyze data for RBC's material ESG topics by working with key stakeholders (e.g., Enterprise ESG Performance & Reporting, Climate, Strategy & Governance (CS&G), Environmental & Social Risk team, T&O Strategy, Line of Business data leads, Data Management Office, Chief Data Office, ESG Finance, operations teams).
Identify and source relevant ESG data from internal systems and external providers, leveraging existing data platforms and tools where possible.
Operationalize an enterprise ESG scorecard and insights tracker for management decision making by connecting to existing data inputs and supporting the development of new metrics across the organization.
Partnering with the Director, Enterprise ESG Performance and Reporting, stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, best practices, standards, and regulations, and assess their implications for RBC's ESG data while informing our ESG disclosure set.
Who you are :
5+ years of experience in data analytics and insights, risk management, data management and / or business product ownership.
Undergraduate degree business administration, finance, applied mathematics, sciences or engineering.
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.
Experience working in collaboration with technical counterparts.
Self-starter, critical thinker, highly motivated, having a strong drive to achieve tangible results.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Ability to analyze and comprehend complex data products, reporting and data related issues.
Proven ability to build and leverage relationships in a matrix organization to deliver results.
Nice-to-have
Knowledge of social (e.g., diversity, human rights, employee engagement) and governance (e.g., board composition, executive compensation, anti-corruption) data, as well as environmental data concepts, frameworks, standards, and regulations.
Understanding of data, processes, data domain and RBC's businesses is an asset
Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and guidelines (e.g. Climate risk, Data Policies).
Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, PowerBI etc.
