As a Kitchen Supervisor , you are pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen and the delivery of nutritious meals to students.
Your responsibilities include overseeing kitchen staff, assigning tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
You will also be involved in menu planning, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Your leadership ensures that meals are prepared efficiently, meet nutritional standards, and contribute to a positive dining experience for students.

POSTING DETAILS Position Kitchen Supervisor Start Date - As soon as possible (flexible) Schedule - Casual / On Call (hours vary) Location(s) Varied DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Demonstrates, supervises and assists in the preparation of food including operation and care of equipment.
Assists with supervision of cafeteria staff including planning, organizing, scheduling and maintaining quality of work. Plans menus.
Maintains inventory and orders supplies. Performs general cafeteria duties such as washing dishes, cleaning equipment, and operating cash registers.
Assists with student evaluation following criteria established by the teacher. Assists with administering first aid to students such as applying band-aids and giving out ice packs.
Assists with student supervision when and where required. Operates equipment such as meat slicer, industrial dishwasher, industrial mixer and industrial ovens.
Performs other assigned comparable duties that are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Grade 12 graduation plus possession of a Trades Certificate in cooking / baking. FOODSAFE Level 1 certification (or equivalent) One-year related experience including supervisory experience.
Ability to use judgement in applying established methods and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively using tact and discretion in the explanation and clarification of information.
Ability to work with constant interruptions and to meet deadlines. Ability to interact with students in effective manner.
Ability to supervise cafeteria staff. Physical ability to perform required duties.
