What we need

We are currently seeking a Manager, Security and Loss Prevention whose skills will contribute to our organisation's mission.

The incumbent will report to the Director of Operations and ensure the management of the security and loss prevention team in protecting the guest experience.

Mitigating the risks to guests, colleagues and the organization, while ensuring good relations in delivering our mantra of "Leave Your Troubles Behind" is paramount.

What you'll do

  • Recruit, develop and lead a team of 'on-brand' security agents, with high guest and colleague interaction creating a welcoming, safe and memorable experience for all
  • Respond to guest's needs, issues, and concerns promptly in a consistent, calm, and fair manner while deescalating and enforcing Spa etiquette as necessary
  • Identify, mitigate, manage & follow up on hazards and safety concerns across the entire Spa Village, while maintaining all life safety equipment and coordinating appropriate inspections
  • Protect the operational security of our guests, colleague's and physical assets, including controlling site access while assisting with facilities support
  • Support investigative work for liability or damage claims including interfacing with insurance companies
  • Execute emergency response plans when required acting as the Primary First Responder, Fire Warden, or Incident commander
  • Manage incident reporting system, and conduct regular reviews to evaluate root causes and provide recommendations to the Executive Committee to mitigate further risk
  • Manage departmental budgets
  • Actively engage team members in ensuring that standards are met or exceeded and conducts performance improvements as necessary
  • Develop and facilitate departmental strategic plans and proactively identify opportunities
  • Ensure the implementation of corporate policies and where applicable, review and amend
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Profile needed

What is the profile needed in order to be successful in this position

  • College or University degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or other relevant field and / or appropriate work experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in the security industry, ideally with a background in hospitality or retail sectors
  • Minimum two (2) years of Leadership / Management experience
  • Customer service experience is essential
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests, managers, and other associates
  • Possess and maintain a valid Security License in the Province of Ontario
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long period of time
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment, hot / cold outdoors
  • Agile & strong problem-solving abilities
  • Possess a sense of urgency and an ability to deal with stress.

When

You will work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights), full time position (40 hours / week).

The salary is based on the pay scale and benefits in effect at Thermëa spa village.
