Project Management Office (PMO) Consultant

Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of the Centrilogic PMO, this role sits with part of the PMO team that provides outsourced PMO services to Centrilogic customers.

In cases where Centrilogic is contracted to design and implement a full service PMO solution, the consultant will take their direction from the Director of the PMO in consultation with the relevant internal and client stakeholders.

When providing staff-augmentation based PMO service functions to clients, the role will take day-day instruction from the client in relation to priorities and strategy.

This role will be responsible for :

  • Consulting with clients to understand their specific PMO needs
  • The design and deployment of PMO process and systems solutions using customers tools and or / Centrilogic tools and offerings as required in the areas of :
  • Project Portfolio Management & Reporting
  • Portfolio Program / dependency, issue and risk Management
  • Project Intake & Prioritization
  • Demand and Capacity planning depending on customer requirements
  • Project Financial Forecasting and reporting processes
  • Project and PMO Quality Assurance and Control
  • And / or the provision of PMO Operations Services in the following areas :
  • Supervision & Coaching of Project Managers & Business Analysts
  • Project Portfolio Management & Reporting
  • Project In take & Prioritization
  • Demand and Capacity planning depending on customer requirements
  • Project escalation management and improvement / remediation plans

The PMO Consultant will oversee Client projects and ensure that they are completed on time and within budget. A successful candidate will ensure all team members uphold standards throughout each project's development and execution.

The PMO Consultant will lead the development and continuous improvement of the clients Project Delivery model in relation to processes and methodologies to maximize customer satisfaction.

The PMO Consultant will oversee project portfolio management for the client’s projects, ensuring effective monitoring, control and escalation of issues within the portfolio.

The PMO Consultant will support the project intake, estimation and prioritization processes to ensure consistency of the delivery process as required.

Mandatory Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills (English)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT & T Project Management.
  • 3+ years of experience in Project Portfolio Management.
  • 3+ years of experience in a PMO Leadership role or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • PMP certification or equivalent

Important Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Some working knowledge of business processes and data flows across Finance, Sales & Marketing, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Supply Chain operations.
  • Advanced MSOffice suite user
  • Demonstratable commercial acumen
  • Agile / Scrum Project experience & certification
  • Working knowledge of Lean methodology
  • MS PWA management / administration experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Project User
  • Azure DevOps or equivalent toolset
  • Power BI configuration & Report Generation Skill

Desirable Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent
  • PMO Certification (PMOGA)
  • MS Dynamics Experience
  • MS Power App Experience

Primary Responsibilities

  • Enhance Customer Project Management Office capabilities to drive delivery excellence.
  • Compliance with Centrilogic quality standards.
  • Refine existing client PMO delivery frameworks for specific customer needs.
  • Establish effective project and portfolio health metrics and reporting to reflect customer needs
  • People leadership of the client project management team and associated talent plan including hiring and recruiting as required.
  • Partner closely with client sponsors in support of project delivery
  • Leadership of the client PMO with line-management defined / contracted responsibilities.
  • Run weekly / monthly project reporting / governance processes as required.
  • Build multi-level (e.g. executive, director, PM), dashboards for client consumption (ideally through automation)
  • Onboard, coach and support client and contracted Project Managers and other team members
  • Manage client PMO demand and capacity planning
  • Assign Project Managers to pursuits / projects based on availability / skills
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy across project managers & projects in relation to Client and Centrilogic standards.
