This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual with a desire to make a significant contribution to Unica’s Commercial Insurance transformation.
The primary responsibility of a Commercial Insurance Consultant is to train new and existing team members in service excellence, great file management and best practices ensuring our desired methods are consistently deployed at Unica.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven leadership skills, organizational and communication strategies to ensure our training program is embraced, adopted and considered industry best as a means to attract and retain talent.
Responsibilities :
- Direct and assist in underwriting referrals and approve risks beyond individual authority levels as required, to ensure quality business is selected and written
- Act as a technical expert and resource for underwriters and contributes to the resolution of complex underwriting problems
- Facilitate Quality Control audits to ensure the quality of business meets our underwriting standards / target business and identify training opportunities
- Design & provide product training for Unica’s entire product & policy offeringBe a subject matter expert for training and development initiatives (Unica School of Insurance)Develop, share and deliver a variety of training modules to new and existing team members
- Facilitate training programs including OPUS, Guidewire, NPS and document management etc.
- Act as liaison with project teams for product alignment, process improvements and system enhancements
- Develop and maintain detailed coordination and liaison activities with business and technical teams during the mapping and implementation phases of Guidewire.
- Work closely with the process enhancement team to map best practices
- Actively lead or participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of departmental standards and key business metrics such as Net Promoter Score (NPS)
- Drive transformation using Beneva’s P & C strategic focus on SERVICE, EODB, profitable GROWTH
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Attributes :
- Subject Matter Expert in commercial insurance underwriting philosophies
- Previous experience with Guidewire Claims Center along with Guidewire integration is an asset
- Sales-minded with a passion for winning target / profitable accounts
- A solution minded influencer, negotiator, and sound decision maker
- Proven strong oral and written communication skills
- Superb time management and organizational skills
- A team-player with innate leadership attributes
- Accountable, customer-centric, and a natural desire to exceed service expectations
- Bilingual (English / French) is an asset
Education and Experience :
- 8+ years commercial underwriting experience
- University / College degree
- Enrollment in or completion of the CIP (FCIP) Designation
