The Network & Systems Administrator will be part of the RECIPE IT Operations team and will provide Tier 3 support to the restaurant network.
In addition to Tier 3 support the Network & Systems Administrator will be responsible for the security, management and monitoring of the restaurant network as well as assisting other teams in reviewing networking requirements for new projects.
The Network & Systems Administrator will work 9AM to 5PM with extended hours as required along with being on-call 24x7. The Network Administrator will interact with the RECIPE restaurants and internal teams and as such, excellent listening and communication skills are critical.
Responsibilities :
- Provide network support in all areas of the corporate office, restaurant, data center, and cloud network environments including : VPNs, firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Administering, monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, enhancing and supporting existing voice, and contact center systems including : CUCM, Cisco Unity, and RingCentral
- Manage, create, and update Meraki security, wireless, and switch templates for RFCs, troubleshooting, and new infrastructure requirements
- Manage wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization at restaurant level
- Complete and analyze wireless site surveys and participate in wireless network design where applicable
- Respond to LAN / WAN / Internet service outages with timely corrective actions as required and take overall responsibility for service restoration of LAN / WAN and network related Severity 1 / major business impacting outages.
- Work with Third-Party Providers / Technicians to assist in problem resolution of network and telecommunication issues when escalation is required
- Assist with provisioning of restaurant network equipment / configuration new site builds and upgrades to existing sites.
- Work with IT Operations teams to remediate network-related security vulnerabilities
- Coordinate planned system maintenance with internal department managers to ensure minimal impact to internal and external customers.
- Manage system alerts and provide after-hours and weekend support when necessary.
- Provide backup support for other members of the IT Team.
- Create, update, and maintain documentation of all network diagrams, processes, and practices
- Compares current processes to industry "best practice" and identifies opportunities to streamline and improve existing practices
- Identifies areas for cost reduction / avoidance and leads the process to realize savings and provide reporting of progress
- Maintenance and continuous improvement of monitoring and alerting systems
Skills :
- Related University / College Degree or equivalent hands-on technical working experience.
- Current hands-on technical working experience with Internet Protocol (IP) Network systems & technologies, including, but not limited to routing, switching, and firewalls
- Knowledge and technical working experience with Meraki full-stack networking solutions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network / server operating systems including Cisco, Microsoft Windows, Server 2012+, Avaya / Nortel / Extreme Networks and Linux.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services
- Working knowledge of AWS (EC2, VPC, WAF, DirectConnect, CloudWatch, Cognito, IAM)
- Relevant cloud computing certification desired
- Working knowledge of VMWare vCenter, ESXi, and NSX
- Strong interpersonal skills
