Responsibilities :
- Manage retail construction projects for assigned accounts from pre-construction through to completion. This includes bidding / estimating, project planning, scheduling, and monitoring work progress.
- Prepare tender packages, incorporating the scope of work for all trades.
- Manage and coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, engineers, and architects to ensure successful and timely completion of each phase of the build-out.
- Maintain excellent customer service for clients.
- Provide proactive leadership for all support personnel, including Project Coordinators.
- Assist the Managing Director with the development and implementation of business development initiatives and strategies.
- Perform accounting functions, which include issuing purchase orders, maintaining cost files, managing change orders, handling billings, and reconciling accounts.
- Manage the overall project closeout, including document maintenance, addressing deficiencies, and overseeing warranty work.
- Implement and adhere to all Ministry of Labour health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications :
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the retail construction industry, ideally with a focus on managing luxury brand retail stores.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, and / or Project Management certification, showcasing significant competency and domain knowledge in retail custom construction.
- Exceptional understanding of building drawings, codes, and site specifications, critical for high-quality project outcomes.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills, complemented by exceptional time management and problem-solving abilities, enabling the successful leadership of projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent communication skills, essential for maintaining a customer-centric approach and effectively interacting with clients and team members at all levels within the organization.
- Self-motivated with robust interpersonal skills, crucial for working independently and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Willingness to travel for site visits, as required, demonstrating a commitment to hands-on project oversight and client engagement.
- Basic understanding of AutoCAD, considered an asset for engaging with technical plans and drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, supporting efficient project management and communication.
- The ideal candidate should exhibit strong skills in priority management, embody a collaborative and supportive attitude within the team, and have the capability to lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring excellence in delivery.
