Achieving Excellence
As the Outdoor Nordic Spa Facilities Manager , you are responsible for all MEP systems, groundskeeping, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
Hydrotherapy is the Spa's primary product; as such, your accountability for water quality along with the performance of heating and cooling systems is crucial.
Due to the nature of the business, conducting regularly documented inspections of all equipment and adherance to health and safety regulations is essential.
Your ability to balance optimal results around employee engagement, the quality of your facilities' offerings and financial outcomes will be the ultimate measure of success.

Tasks & Responsibilites
- Is visible in operations throughout the day; supporting quality 1st impressions on the grounds, pool decks, outbuildings and public areas.
- Leads ongoing daily maintenance, groundskeeping and preventative maintenance programs : conducts daily mechanical inspections.
- Advises General Manager on future equipment planning, status of preventive maintenance programs and facility contracts.
- Oversees and maintains the cleanliness, function and safety of the pool, the water chemistry, and all pool filters and related equipment.
- Accountable for the maintenance of water quality and safety standards. Adds and adjusts chemical levels as needed.
- Ensures that pool equipment and practices adhere to safety and health regulations, including conducting safety inspections and recommendations for safety enhancements.
- Accountable for maintaining and documenting pool chemistry along with all training associated with the safe storage and use of pool chemicals.
- Sets par levels and control procedures to make sure their employees have the tools and materials required to be successful.
- Creates schedules that meet peak demand periods while delivering budgeted labour costs. Manages expenses lines within budgeted parameters.
- Supports recruitment; maintaining a work environment and processes that attracts and retains quality employees.
- Assigned deliverables are executed in a manner that requires little or no follow-up; both in terms of timeliness, scope and quality.
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary certifications / diploma or degree
- Minimum of 2 years facilities leadership preferred
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry required
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required
- Comfortable with technology and open to new learning
- Safety certifications an asset
- Experience with commercial pool operation preferred
Working Conditions
Due to 365-day-a-year operations, this position may be exposed to long shifts that include late hours, weekends, and holidays.
This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders.
This position spends a lot of time on their feet, multitasking competing priorities, dealing with employee and guest issues and leading a culture of service excellence.
