To be successful as our new PAL Coordinator, you will :
- Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
- Design and implement innovative cognitive and physical exercise programs for residents, both individuals and in groups
- Collaborate with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to ensure resident goals are met
- Be familiar with completing resident transfer assessments
- Collaborate with external partners in order to provide exceptional service to our residents
- Provide leadership and supervision of Kinesiology Co-Op placements, Students and Volunteers who assist with the PAL program
- Facilitate education sessions such as lift & transfer, body mechanics, active living
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role
It would be an asset if our new PAL Coordinator has :
- Registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, regulations and best practices a Experience and / or desire to provide educational sessions / seminars
- Demonstrated experience working with seniors and / or persons with cognitive or physical impairments
- Experience working in the retirement and long-term care sector (eg. School placement)
As a new PAL Coordinator, you will :

You will work as key members of our Village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ needs, and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their physical care.
