Reporting to Director, IT Corporate Systems, the Manager, Systems Support and Maintenance leads technical staff engaged in providing support to the end-to-end implementation and ongoing delivery and sustainment of all applications, integrations & interfaces while maintaining business continuity.
The incumbent manages and develops Functional, System and Business Analysts, and is responsible for maintaining and improving the Applications Lifecycle Management and supporting integration and solution architecture.
Participates with others on the IT management team and business stakeholders in making cost effective decisions regarding business applications and ensuring functional optimization and alignment to business objectives.
- The incumbent provides direction and guidance to staff responsible for the development of corporate applications architecture, structure and standards;
- approves and oversees the implementation of new solutions and software releases & upgrades; reviews project priorities and timelines and participates in projects of greater complexity and / or higher priority as required;
- develops solution architecture diagrams and documentation. Provides leadership to staff members including recruitment, performance management, training, mentoring and coaching;
prepares and manages operating and capital budgets; monitors expenditures and revenue; participates in the preparation of variance reports, accounts for discrepancies and takes remedial action, as required.
Manages input into Project Management Office to maintain project plans; provides reporting over project scope; provides updates to relevant stakeholders and team members;
monitors operations of Sustainment & Support and provides input. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline, plus ten years experience in managing Enterprise Application Development and Integration teams, ERP implementation and support, including five years experience implementing SaaS, COTS supporting a hybrid of solutions and interfaces, and a minimum five years in a supervisory role leading diverse and complex teams, OR, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience with Business Transformation and solution modernization projects will be a definite asset. Ability to lead and implement modern technologies;
- plan and manage division budgets; establish credibility and partnership and influence key stakeholders within the organization;
utilize agile and scrum methodology and establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and employees.
Demonstrated ability to manage large projects including developing project scope, planning, costing, risk management, governance, excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
