The Senior Pension Analyst will work within a team that to provide quality client-focused administrative services for our Corporate clients.
Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent client ready work within the agreed timelines
- Keep track of workflow and provide teams with progress updates
- Make suggestions for improved processes and procedures for recurring client work
- Communicate with client teams, and clients where appropriate, using effective and clear written and oral communication
- Answer queries from clients, plan members and trustees, providing relevant information and appropriate follow-up
- Calculate or check benefits (retirement, termination, marriage breakdown, death) in accordance with plan rules and legislation
- Produce and check annual statements (verify member data, special groups, contributions and text) and any other relevant reports
- Keep client commitments, meet expectations and deadlines; recognizing different client requirements
- Perform other tasks that may be required (PAR and PA calculations, pension indexing, valuation data, etc.) - Involvement in invoicing process
- Provide training and guidance to other team members
- Participate in Mentorship program as a Mentor
Requirements
- Post-secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science)
- experience (completed retirement, termination and death calculations and experience with multi-employer pension plans)
- Knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and provincial pension and tax legislation
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Exceptional client service with strong professional acumen
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills
- Advance proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook); expert proficiency in Excel
- Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence
- CEBS or PPAC an asset
