Halq'eméylem is the language of this land and of Stó : lo ancestors. The place from where Halq’eméylem (Upriver dialect) originates is Leq’á : mel.

The language comes from the land, and it has been this way since time immemorial.

We invite applications for the positions of :

School : Student Services Department

Position : Speech and Language Pathologist

FTE : .80 (4 days per week)

Grade : All

Status : Temporary

Start Date : ASAP

Schedule : 4 days per week

Please note there is flexibility in the workdays, and they may be changed in consultation with the Director and the Human Resources Department.

Qualifications :

Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology

Applicant must be registered with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC (CSHHPBC)

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the field is preferred

Must be eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologists (CASLPA) and / or British Columbia Association of Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologist ( BCASLPA)

Recent successful experience working with school-aged students and students with special needs (low incidence)

Job duties :

Comprehensive diagnostic and direct therapy to school-aged children with a variety of communication disorders

Act as a resource for teachers, educational assistants and parents

The starting annual salary for this position ranges from $57,972-$106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service, FTE and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
