Evertz is looking for a FPGA Design Engineer to be part of Markham FPGA Design team responsible for developing video / audio processing, routing and transportation products.

You will be working with advanced high density FPGA design, 100G network transport, broadcast quality video and audio compression technologies and system on chip designs, all on the latest generations of FPGAs and MPSoCs.

Responsibilities : Develop FPGA / MPSoc-based products Design video, audio and network processing IP cores Contribute to system or subsystem specification and architecture Collaborate closely with other hardware and software engineers to test and debug the design Use FPGA design tools to fit design, close timing, and improve fitting quality Contribute ideas to further the innovation of FPGA development flows Requirements : Minimum education : bachelor degree in engineering or science Experience with FPGA designs in VHDL or Verilog (VHDL preferred) An understanding of Static Timing Analysis and Timing Closure techniques Experience writing test benches and simulating digital designs Experience with in-system debugging of FPGAs Experience with C or C++ Experience with Python, Tcl, bash or other scripting languages Excellent revision control habits, and experience with Git or Subversion Bonus Requirements : Knowledge of clock domain crossing techniques Experience with video or audio signal processing Knowledge of video compression and decompression methods Knowledge of protocols like PCIe, Ethernet, AXI4, Avalon, SPI, I2C, etc Experience with High Level Synthesis designs Experience with Linux What we Offer : Employer funded benefits program Competitive total compensation package Work-Life Balance Employee assistance plan Employee Discount Platform Career Progression Casual Work Environment Social Events and Sports Teams About Us : Evertz Microsystems (TSX : ET) is a leading global manufacturer of broadcast equipment and solutions that deliver content to television sets, on-demand services, WebTV, IPTV, and mobile devices (like phones and tablets).
