Salary : At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees.

The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to : your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role.
The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range : $110,000- $170.000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview
Working under minimal supervision, the Actuarial Expert-Personal Lines Pricing is responsible for leading development of best practices integration into processes and methods used by the actuarial team.
They function as experts in actuarial methodologies and mentor actuarial staff at all levels in the understanding and use of these methods.
They are familiar with regulation and legislations in all the jurisdictions in which we write business and ensure the methodologies used comply with such.
They innovate on our current actuarial practices and effectively manage multiple high priority projects within a department.
This role is considered a head-office role and will be required to communicate with internal stakeholders across Canada where the primary business language utilized is English.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related discipline
- More than ten years of actuarial experience an asset
- FCAS designation required
- Communication / Building Relationships Advanced communicator. People trust the communications of an expert. Leaves behind useful and functional documentation on projects.
Strong negotiator and storyteller. Uses graphs and data in a way that supplements their arguments. Persuasive with the conclusions from their work.
Often presents their work to Director + level.
- Computer / Programming Skills Fully proficient with Excel, SQL, R, Python, or other specialized programs. Leverages the right program(s) for the job.
- Problem solving Excellent problem solver. Integrates knowledge from actuarial science, math, statistics, general business to solve advanced problems.
