The International Finance team supports the International Real Estate Portfolio and its continued growth.
The Senior Accountant, International Finance role is a newly created position required to operate, support
and oversee the property accounting function of QuadReal's US multi-family and industrial portfolios.
Reporting directly to the Manager, International Finance, the Senior Accountant, International Finance is
responsible for adding value to QuadReal by monitoring, reviewing, and providing guidance on the
property accounting and reporting of assigned assets, and ensuring meaningful financial information that
is professional, accurate and free of material misstatements. This position will work closely with other
International Finance team members as well as QuadReal's Asset Management team, external property
accounting teams and other stakeholders.
As a QuadReal Senior Accountant, you will be required to take ownership of your role and responsibilities.
This would include training on new systems, tools and overall QR processes and procedures while
incorporating high-level thinking and analysis within the group.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager in providing oversight to the external US property accounting teams
- including monitoring, providing accounting guidance and communicating any issues that require
- management input
- Provide support for the annual financial statement audits with the International Finance
- Reporting team
- Prepare the unaudited quarterly financial statements for property level entities under IFRS
- Review of monthly and annual property reporting to ensure that desired results are achieved
- according to deadlines and IFRS
- Responsible for timely completion of monthly and quarterly financial reporting of assigned
- portfolio in accordance with IFRS
- Assist with the transition and onboarding of assets and legal entities into Yardi as properties
- move to direct management
- Liaise with property accounting staff, asset management team, banking staff and other
- functional groups globally to ensure they are receiving responsive service and advice as
- necessary
- Full understanding of all property specific processes and upkeep of pertinent information
- relating to specific properties
- Input / feedback for improving procedures and initiating quality and efficiency enhancements
- Take on special projects as assigned including process improvements and senior management
- requests
Experience and Qualifications
- Must have a professional accounting designation (CPA) or are near-completion
- Minimum 3-5 years of property accounting experience
- Experience in the U.S. multi-family or industrial asset classes is an asset
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
- Proven ability to build, develop, and sustain cooperative working relationships
- Organized, and can work under pressure to meet tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple
- demands and competing priorities
- Natural ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems, seek direction where required and take
- informed, decisive action when needed
- Desire to grow and take on increased responsibility with the organization
- Intermediate to advanced Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs; knowledge of
- Yardi is an asset
The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $88,000.
The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual's skill, experience, education and training, the market compensation of the role, and the consideration to internal equity.
