Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Finance Manager to join our client. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for providing expert financial guidance and leadership to a division of the business.
You will oversee key financial activities including strategic planning, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, ensuring that the business meets and exceeds its financial targets.

Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead the preparation of the annual Business Plan and Strategic Plan in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Actively participate in the Sales & Operations Planning Process, ensuring financial alignment with business goals.
- Provide expert financial analysis and strategic recommendations to drive performance and enhance profitability.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial reports, including forecasts, financial statements, and management reports.
- Conduct variance analysis and present alternatives to management, addressing any deviations from the financial plan.
- Lead the annual standard cost study, ensuring that improvements and cost reductions are effectively implemented and reported.
Operational Finance Management
Manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and maximizing financial benefits (e.
g., cash discounts, timely payments).
- Provide oversight for Accounts Receivable, ensuring policies and procedures are followed for credit granting and collections.
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and ensure they align with long-term financial goals.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of Sales, Product Costing, and Manufacturing Variances, offering strategic recommendations to optimize gross margin performance.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, internal controls, and corporate policies, including overseeing internal audits and the enforcement of segregation of duties within the finance department.
- Manage the safe-keeping and proper utilization of divisional assets, including inventories and capital assets.
- Play a lead role in banking relationships, including payment processes, banking software, and financial audits.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering professional growth and ensuring departmental goals are met.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and encourage team development through continuous education and job improvement.
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA required).
- 5+ years of accounting / finance experience, must have manufacturing environment experience where standard costs, inventory control, and variance analysis are central.
- Proven experience with capital expenditure justification and project evaluation.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and internal controls , with prior experience managing financial audits. Experience working at a PUBLICLY listed company - MUST HAVE
- Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with IFS or OneStream is an asset).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence decision-making. MD&A presentations to the senior leadership team
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
