The Property Manager will report directly to the Director, Property Management and will be responsible for maximizing the value of a commercial real estate portfolio, responding to the tenants’ and owners’ needs in accordance with the Lease Agreements and Property Management Agreements, while effectively and efficiently managing the day-to-day operations of the portfolio of properties in a team environment.
What you’ll be doing :
- Represent the owners’ interests in all matters related to the management of the properties;
- Prepare and submit monthly reports and annual operating budgets for each property, with the assistance of the various departments and team members;
- Review, monitor and control all operating costs associated with the management of the property;
- Liaise with owners regarding property related issues;
- Provide assistance in preparing and tendering all operational contracts;
- Liaise with building operators in managing the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the property;
- Liaise with tenants on all operational matters related to their tenancy;
- Collaborate with property owners, tenants, and other stakeholders to communicate and promote ESG initiatives.
- Execute a sustainability strategy for managed properties, focusing on energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and other environmentally responsible initiatives.
- Be self-motivated with the ability to allocate one’s time effectively, multi-task and prioritize competing demands within required deadlines;
- Other duties as required.
Keys to success in this role are :
- College diploma or university degree
- Minimum 7-10 years’ commercial real estate industry experience, including hands-on property management and multiple property responsibilities
- Industry related designation(s), including SMT, SMA, RPA preferred
- Knowledge of prominent building certification programs. Ability to navigate and manage the certification process for properties, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and optimizing green building practices.
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve quality results
- Intermediate or advanced level of proficiency in office software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
