THE ROLE

A great project focused business analyst type opportunity that will provide hands-on support and maintenance of the Business Intelligence functions in a high visibility position.

• 30% Dashboard Development
• 30% Data Governance
• 20% Power BI Maintenance & Optimization
• 20% Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration

THE TASKS

Dashboard Development

May include, but not be limited to, the following tasks :

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI, ensuring user-friendly layouts and real-time data updates.
• Use advanced DAX queries and Power Query to clean, transform, and connect datasets across multiple systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across finance and IT to gather requirements, define key metrics, and design dashboard KPIs that meet business needs.

Data Governance

May include, but not be limited to, the following tasks :

• Implement and monitor data governance standards, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Conduct regular data audits to ensure data quality and resolve inconsistencies in reports and dashboards.

Power BI Maintenance & Optimization

• May include, but not be limited to, the following tasks :
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the Power BI platform, ensuring smooth operations and optimized performance.
• Perform ETL operations, aggregating data from multiple sources and ensuring clean data input for analysis.

Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration

May include, but not be limited to, the following tasks :

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical manuals, process workflows, and user guides.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations.

THE EXPECTATIONS TIMELINE PREVIEW

By Month 1

• Completed onboarding with a strong understanding of the BI infrastructure and key stakeholders.
• Demonstrated familiarity with the Power BI system and relevant data sources.

By Month 3

• Full ownership of Power BI dashboards, including front-end design and backend performance optimization.
• Established key relationships with cross-functional teams and provided recommendations for improvements.

THE SKILL SET

• Advanced knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and ETL processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration experience.
• Prior Business Analyst or FP&A experience an asset.
