Job Summary
We are seeking experienced sous chef / lead cook to join a team in a fun atmosphere while maintaining a professional decorum.
The role includes but is not limited to the ability to drive sales, manage costs, create goals and execute strategies to meet / exceed targets given.
Overall the position involves, a 45-50 hour work week. All aspects of all positions within the organization need to be understood.
Creating a strong working environment that thrives and is set for success with or without you is mandatory.
Responsibilities and Duties
Necessary skills, attributes, and responsibilities of a successful candidate :
- Communication, ability to report, listen, execute, and follow up
- Strong leadership focus (Mentorship, leading by example, team building)
- Passion for food and beverage, with an attention to detail
- Ability to assess suppliers, and determine effective plans of action
- Understanding Cost of Sales and the relation to the business. Food Costs, Menu Engineering, Labour Costs
- Cleanliness to a fault
- Opening and Closing procedures
- Inventory Control
- Positive Attitude
- A competent hiring process that is uniform and thoughtful
Qualifications and Skills
Required
- Red Seal Certification
- Food Handlers Certificate
- Culinary School Degree or Diploma (preferred)
- 3 years experience in the same or similar role
- Health and Safety
