TRS Staffing Solutions has opportunities for a Civil Engineer to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
This is a long-term Full-Time opportunity that starts with a one-year contract with possibility of extension.
Salary Range : $50 - 80 / hr depending on level of experience
Key Responsibilities :
- Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
- Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems
- Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and / or project objectives and guidelines
- Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
- Other duties as assigned
Key Requirements :
- 3-10 years of civil engineering experience
- Indicate strong technical interests and background with civil engineering subjects such as hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, roadwork and earthworks design
- Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials is a strong asset.
- Relevant practical field experience
- Capable to undertake civil engineering work related to resource project development and construction, in one or more of the following areas : Plant site development earthwork Access road and infrastructure Storm drainage management Underground utilities Water supply and transportation Open channel and pressurized slurry transportation
