The Senior Manager, Procurement Operations will play a pivotal role in elevating the efficiency and effectiveness of our global procurement processes.
Acting as a dynamic change agent, this role is responsible for catalyzing the operationalization of CAE’s procure-to-pay (P2P) processes, ensuring seamless operations across our procurement landscape.
We seek a strategic thinker with a robust background in procurement operations, capable of driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence :
Champion Optimization : Lead efforts to optimize P2P processes, prioritizing superior efficiency, value, and user experience for all stakeholders involved in procuring goods and services.
Best Practice Development : Develop and implement best practices, standards, and guidelines to streamline procurement operations, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
Strategic Vision Execution : Develop, articulate, and execute the strategic vision and objectives of central-led initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's overarching goals.
Team Leadership and Development :
High-Performing Team Management : Manage and mentor a high-performing team of procurement professionals, providing strategic direction and fostering continuous learning and improvement.
Culture Cultivation : Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among team members, emphasizing collective success and individual growth.
Performance Optimization : Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing support to optimize team performance and individual growth.
Stakeholder Management and Communication :
Stakeholder Empowerment : Provide comprehensive training and resources to stakeholders on corporate processes, procedures, and best practices in procurement, empowering informed decision-making and compliance adherence.
Transparent Communication : Foster open and transparent communication channels to disseminate information regarding procurement policies, regulations, and updates, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Technology and Automation :
System Implementation Support : Support the implementation of P2P systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and driving operational efficiencies.
Strategic Enhancement Identification : Identify and implement strategic enhancements in procurement processes, leveraging technologies as enablers to automate and streamline operations, driving accuracy, efficiency, and agility.
Performance Tracking and Reporting :
Comprehensive Tracking Systems : Develop and uphold comprehensive tracking and reporting systems to monitor procurement performance, delivering frequent updates and actionable insights to senior management.
Change Effectiveness Assessment : Utilize reporting dashboards to gauge the effectiveness of implemented changes, measuring areas of improvement and tracking success over time.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives : Continuously analyze procurement operations performance metrics, identifying opportunities for enhancement and promptly implementing corrective actions as required.
Qualifications
Education : A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
Procurement Experience : 8-10 years of progressive experience in procurement operations, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence, process optimization, and strategic initiatives.
Experience in a global procurement environment is preferred.
Leadership Skills : Demonstrated experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Proven ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
Change Management : Strong change management skills with experience leading organizational change initiatives. Ability to act as a change agent, driving transformational change within the procurement function and across the organization.
Strategic Thinking : Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
Experience in articulating and executing strategic visions for procurement operations.
Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience in stakeholder management and transparent communication practices.
Technology Proficiency : Proficiency in procurement systems and technologies, with the ability to support the implementation and optimization of P2P systems.
Experience leveraging technologies as enablers to automate and streamline procurement operations.
Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze procurement performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Experience in developing and maintaining comprehensive tracking and reporting systems.
Compliance Knowledge : In-depth understanding of procurement policies, regulations, and best practices, with a focus on compliance adherence and risk management.
Continuous Improvement Mindset : Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a passion for driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of innovation within the procurement function.
