The Principal Engineer is accountable for achieving business objectives, ensuring client satisfaction, and fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
ROLE RESPONSBILITIES :
Technical Responsibilities :
- Lead technical projects and engage with client to deliver fire alarm engineering and fire and life safety code projects.
- Lead technical staff and assign performance goals and provide guidance and technical mentorship to direct reports.
- Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and professional development.
- Track and manage project budgets, scope of work and additional services.
Strategic Planning and Execution :
- Develop and implement plans to drive business growth and meet organizational objectives.
- Implement organizational and operational strategies to scale team and create efficient processes.
- Staffing level management including hiring and retention of staff to support operational requirements.
Client Retention and BD :
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Identify new business opportunities, review RFPs and prepare project proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional Engineer registration with PEO in good standing.
- Consulting Engineer designation and PMP considered strong assets.
- Proven experience in a leadership role in an engineering or fire protection setting.
- Mastery of engineering principles and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in fire alarm system engineering and building code fire and life safety requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.
- Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting.
- Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
